David K. Kozlowski, 81, beloved husband of Sharon; loving father of Dean (Carrie), Derek (Rich Campbell), Dustin (Carly) and Drew (Diana) Kozlowski; dear grandfather of Julia, Kate, Lila, and Grant. A memorial mass will be celebrated at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church 608 Sobieski Street in Lemont, IL on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. Cremation was private.
Dave was happily married for 58 years to his loving wife Sharon. They raised four boys in the western suburbs of Chicago.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family in the north woods of Wisconsin. He loved gardening and obtained a degree of Master gardener during his retirement, and grew many beautiful flowers and vegetables. He was an avid hiker, walking the local forest preserves as well as national parks. He enjoyed a draft Yuengling lager, golf, and spending winters in Lovers Key, Florida.
His career began upon completing his PhD from Wayne State University and began his teaching career at Temple University, though he quickly moved back to Chicago to be his family after having his first born son. Then, he began a long and successful career at Triton College, first as an administrator, later earning a masters degree in math and finishing as an educator. He retired at 56 and enjoyed his retirement with his wife and family.
He was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed attending weekly mass.
