Obituary for Dolores M. Kozerski
Dolores “Dolly” Mary Kozerski (nee Frederick) was the most loving mother, the most dedicated grandmother and ever-present great-grandmother. The beacon of our lives left us after 91 years on July 24, 2021.

Dolores was born in Cicero on September 9, 1929, and spent the rest of her life keeping her husband, family and friends on their toes. She believed in hard work; she had a seasonal job as a gift wrapper at Von Maur until the last year. She believed in making people feel special – there was no flight she missed, no train she skipped, no traffic she wouldn’t brave if it meant she was going to take in a moment that mattered. Dance recitals, graduations, weddings – the truth was, if you needed her, you had her.

She made everyone feel as cherished as she was. She was an active mentor in Al-Anon and had found a loving community there. She taught English to those for whom it was a second language. She found time for quiet moments and hugs and plays and movies and trips with her friends.

She loved her family fiercely and she is missed by them immensely. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Kozerski, her parents, Charles and Harriet Frederick, her sister Virginia (Robert) Pardus, her brother Charles (Sharon) Frederick. She is survived by her ever-present and loving daughters, Linda (Mark) Peckler, Sandra (Mark) Carter, Diane (Richard) Dickhaut, and Cheryl (Robert) Pernai, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make donations in Dolores’ name to the American Lung Association or Mary, Mother of Divine Grace Parish.

Funeral Thursday, July 29th. 9:30 A.M. from Suburban Family Funeral Home 5940 W. 35th. St. (Corner of 35th. St. & Austin) Cicero to Our Lady of Charity Church. Mass 10 A.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 P.M. For additional information, call 708-652-1116.
