Francisco V. Herrera, born in Santiago MaravatÃo, Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away January 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. As the firstborn of seven siblings, Francisco embodied a spirit of perseverance and dedication that inspired all who knew him.
As a teenager, Francisco made the bold decision to move to the United States, seeking opportunities to build a better future. He began his journey in California before settling in Chicago with his father, where he planted roots and built a life full of hard work and family love.
Francisco was a dedicated and talented chef, working at the Daily Center at Favers for 18 years. When the restaurant closed, he continued his career at Zenith, where he worked for over a decade. Undeterred by life’s changes, Francisco decided to embark on a new chapter and went back to school in 2000, earning his qualifications as a truck driver.
For the next 16 years, Francisco proudly drove his Kenworth and Freightliner trucks, finding joy and freedom on the open road. His resilience and determination were evident in every mile he traveled.
Francisco leaves behind his beloved wife, two sons, two daughters, and seven grandchildren, who will forever cherish his legacy of hard work, love, and devotion to family.
He will be remembered not only for his remarkable journey but for his warm heart, sense of adventure, and unwavering commitment to providing for his loved ones.
A celebration of Francisco’s life will take place January 9, 2025 at Suburban Funeral Home 5940 W 35th St, Cicero, IL 60804 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
