Obituary for Josef P. Habercoss
Josef P. Habercoss, 38, cherished son of Charis nee Kurcab and Carl (Rosemary Busky) Habercoss; dear brother of Kristyn (Christopher) Ragucci; loving uncle of Nico, Luca, and Milo Ragucci; Josef was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Dolores Kurcab, Carl N. and Barbara Habercoss, in addition to his beloved "Uncle Bob" Kurcab. Josef is also survived by his aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family.
Josef enjoyed spending time with family, listening and singing along to classic rock tunes. He also loved all Chicago sports with his favorite team being the Chicago Blackhawks. He was a "Chicago foodie" who especially loved pizza and Polish/dogs. He enjoyed traveling, and some of his favorite places to travel over the years to visit with family were Arizona, Wisconsin and Colorado. He recently enjoyed his first overseas trip to Cascais, Portugal where he attended his cousin's wedding. Josef held a special place in his heart for his fellow clients and staff at Helping Hands Adult Program. He will be remembered for his big smile, warm greetings, enthusiasm for life, and sense of humor. Josef will be missed by many.
Visitation Friday, January 31st. from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Suburban Family Funeral Home 5940 W. 35th. St. (Corner of 35th. St. & Austin) Cicero. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. the following day for chapel prayers at 10:30 A.M. An 11:00 A.M. mass will follow at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Josef's memory to Helping Hands Adult Program in Hodgkins, Illinois.
