Obituary for William A. Van Loan, Sr.
William A. Van Loan, Sr. 89, United States Army Korean War Veteran; loving father of William (Mary) and Stephen (Debbie) Van Loan; dear grandfather of Rachel, Stacy, Becca, T.J., and Sami; fond brother of Robert and late George Van Loan and the late Katie Michalek. Mr. Van Loan worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years, was a die-hard Bulls fan, a precinct captain for the Town of Cicero, volunteered at the St. Mary of Czestochowa Youth Center as a parental guide and mentor to the many kids who enjoyed various sporting activities throughout the years, was a coach for South Cicero Baseball as well as the head basketball coach for the St. Mary of Czestochowa Holy Name Society Basketball team, winning many first place trophies and the respect of all who played for him. He will be dearly missed. Funeral Monday, July 13th. 9:30 A.M. from Suburban Family Funeral Home 5940 W. 35th. St. (Corner of 35th. St. & Austin) Cicero to St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Mass 10 A.M. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 3-8 P.M. 708-652-1116.
