Larry Allan Blackburn, aged 81, of Helen, West Virginia, passed away in his longtime home of Cicero, Illinois on August 17, 2024. Larry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and preacher whose life was a testament to his faith and dedication to others.
He was married to Barbara Sue Blackburn, and together they shared a life filled with love and devotion. Larry was a cherished father to his two daughters, Jennifer Riedy (spouse Mark Riedy) and Jamie Sandberg (spouse Bill Sandberg). He took immense pride in his grandsons, Elijah Hursey and Luke Hursey.
Larry was a devoted preacher at the 1st General Baptist Church, where his compassion and commitment to his faith touched many lives. He was an avid fisherman who loved to be on the bank with a pole in his hand. He was also a loving brother to his multiple siblings and uncle to his nieces and nephews, who will remember him with great affection.
Larry is remembered fondly by all who knew him for his unwavering love, kindness, and spiritual guidance. His legacy of faith and family will continue to inspire and comfort those he leaves behind.
Visitation Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at Suburban Family Funeral Home 5940 W. 35th. St. (Corner of 35th. St. & Austin) Cicero from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a chapel service honoring Larry's life beginning at 6:30 P.M.
